My journey from Poland into Ukraine was long and bumpy, offering a stark contrast to any train rides I had previously experienced in the US and Europe. Boarding the overnight train, I was immediately struck by the vibrant atmosphere. The train, affectionately dubbed the "Kyiv Express," was a mix of sounds and sensations that kept me on my toes throughout the 16-hour ride.
As the train chugged along the tracks, the rhythmic clatter of wheels and the occasional jolt made for a lively experience. Despite the noise, I found the compartments to be surprisingly cozy.
